Critter Rescue
We take in animals that are no longer wanted and find them new homes.  We can only do this as cage/house/kennel space, time and money allows.  If you have or know someone who has an unwanted bunny, poodle or other small-breed dog, feel free to contact me to see if I have room to house it.

Rescue Dogs Available
We have worked with dog rescue since 2003.  Started out working with Anatolian Shepherd Dogs then added Poodles to those I rescue.  See the links below for the rescue groups we work with and dogs I'm fostering that are looking for homes.
ADOPTED!!
Mandy,
Standard Poodle
Approx 5yrs old

Mandy is in her new home in Georgia.
Thanks Joe and Linda for giving her such a wonderful forever home!
We miss her!
Chester
Beagle/Rat Terrier mix.  Approx 6-8 yrs old says the vet so don't let his grey hair fool you, he's barely middle-age!
Chester is versatile boy who would be happy with city or country living.
What a good boy!
He rarely barks even when all the other dogs here are barking.
Housebroke, walks on leash, listens to voice commands(mostly), LOVES to go for rides.  Likes everyone(kids of any age) but seems a little partial to men.  Gets along with dogs of all sizes, ignores cats, chickens, and pygmy goats.  Chester is a laid back boy, not at all hyper though will run and play with the other dogs.  He's a good rat hunter as he's proven in my rabbit shed which is now rat free  :)  Seems he doesn't like snakes either and killed a large rat snake in the bunny shed!
Heartworm negative, neutered, very healthy with a nice shiny coat.  Has had annual vaccines. Adoption fee $100 which is less than it cost to get him vetted.
Chester sharing his bed with Boo the Toy Fox Terrier, and Paris the Toy Poodle.
A HAPPY DOG'S BEDTIME PRAYER
Now I lay me down to sleep,
The queen-size bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the center groove,
My human being can hardly move.

I've trapped her legs, she's tucked in tight,
and here is where I pass the night.
No one disturbs or dares intrude,
Til morning comes and I want food.

I sneak up slowly...it begins,
Nibbles on my human's chin.
she wakes up slowly, smiles and shouts,
"You darling beast!  Just cut it out!"

But morning's here, its time to play,
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you for giving me,
this human person that I see
The one who holds me oh so tight
and shares her bed with me at night!

Rocky 1 1/2yrs old
Princess 1 1/2yrs old
Bear  3 1/2yrs old
UPDATE 9/1/09:
Bear, Rocky, and Princess are safe here at the farm.  They are very skinny, matted, and stinky.  We'll be evaluating them on behavior, grooming them and getting them vetted.  Then they'll be ready for their forever home :)  For more information on adopting one of these beauties please contact National Anatolian Rescue Network  They are experienced guarding goats, owner stated they had no interest in his sheep once their goats were sold.  They are not good with chickens and at this point would not trust them with other small animals such as rabbits.  They have shown some interest in my pygmy goat in an ajoining pasture.
Princess
Bear(L) and Rocky(R)
UPDATE 9/6/09:
Still letting them settle in, evaluating them on behavior and getting them vetted.  Then they'll be ready for their forever home :)  For more information please contact me via email .   All 3 are friendly dogs. Princess is shy at first but will warm up and ask for pets and attention.

They would do well on a small family farm with goats but are not good with chickens or cats. They would also do well as family companion dogs since they are friendly with people and have nice temperaments. Bear is 3 yrs old and Rocky and Princess are both 18 months old siblings.

They are experienced goat guards, owner stated they had no interest in his sheep once their goats were sold so we prefer for them go on to guard a goat herd.  They have been OK so far with my little house dogs with close supervision.

My Pygmy goats have been pastured with them for about 5 days now with no problems, they seem to like them but will warn them off their dog food.  I don't mind this because if they didn't the goats would eat it all :)  Poor dogs have been starved and need all the food they can get at this point.
Bear, Rocky, and Princess are only available by adoption through National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network To find out more about the adoption process through NASRN  go to their  adoption info page.
Or email me with questions about the dogs.
Check out the Rainbow Bridge at bottom of page.  A tribute for those loved pets no longer with us but always in our hearts.
Rainbow Bridge
These well loved pets may no longer be with us in body, but are forever in our hearts and minds.
Amber, our much loved Golden Retriever was with Brian and I from the very beginning of our relationship.  For sixteen years she was part of our family.  In May 2006 it was finally her time to go and we miss her still.
1991-2006
Spot and Jenna weren't together long but they made each other so happy.  She loved him very much and misses him a lot.
September 2009
Argos, Brian's gentle Bernese Mountain Dog buddy and Amber's close companion.  He left us much too soon at age 5.  We all mourned his passing.
1997-2003
Shown above with nephew Corey.
Honey, we fostered for 18 months then found she had a brain tumor.  She went over the Rainbow Bridge spring 2008.  She was a wonderful family dog.
UPDATE & Pics taken: 10/26/09
Rocky is now neutered and ready for his forever home.  He's a wonderful boy with a big personality and is submissive with us.  He's a talker and loves affection...and his food ;)  He's a big boy at 105lbs now with a lot of filling out to do!  He does not like cats and shouldn't be with chickens.  He gets along with our toy size dogs and our resident male ASD though he barks aggressively at Hawk when he comes near Rocky's pasture where the goats are.  He's a good guardian and will do well on a family farm as a livestock and/or farm guardian.  All three dogs will need secure fencing with a strand of electric wire on it.

All three dogs are heartworm positive but in the early stage so being treated with just regular monthly preventative which kills baby HW's, they'll be heartworm free in 18 months or so(the life span of the adult worm).  This treatment is much safer than using arsenic which kills all the worms quickly but can kill the dog.  All you have to do is give them their regular monthly Heartworm preventative and they'll be fine.
